A Natural Resources Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources session investigates "Oil and Gas Development: Impacts of Water Pollution Above and Below Ground."

PSE Senior Scientist Dominic DiGiulio, PhD, presented expert testimony on May 16, 2019 before the House Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources. The subcommittee hearing was the second in a series of hearings about the impacts of oil and gas development, and was focused on water pollution. Dr. DiGiulio discussed his research on the risks of both surface water and groundwater contamination from oil and gas development, the diversity and relative stringency of current regulatory frameworks aimed to protect water resources, and other relevant PSE research.
