Dr. Rob Pinder joined PSE Healthy Energy as a Senior Scientist in 2026, and his research focuses on advancing atmospheric fate and transport models to clarify the human health and climate change impacts of the energy sector. Prior to PSE, he spent most of his career at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, leading research to advance computational models of the atmosphere. He also worked in the Climate, International, and Energy Group, building capacity in countries just starting their air quality management programs. In 2014, he founded a non-profit organization focused on increasing adoption of residential solar.
Dr. Pinder earned his Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, where his research focused on quantifying the contribution of emissions from the agricultural sector to air pollution and human health, and his Master of Engineering in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
